Answer» I got a Toshiba Satellite A215-S7437 with Windows Vista in November. Right away, I noticed the computer would turn off by itself. Three days ago, I put my computer on standby, and it wouldn't come BACK on, so I turned it off, and tried to start it up again, but it wouldn't start, and hasn't started for three days. What may be the source of the PROBLEM, and how do you FIX it? I have not installed any new hardware since the start of this month, and I don't think I have a virus... I just want my laptop back to working. When you push the power button, do you get any fan noises, or lights? Try unplugging the laptop and pull the battery out. Let it sit that way for a MINUTE or two and then plug it in and push the power button. Leave the battery out at first, and if it STARTS, then try putting it back in. If it doesn't start, unplug it, put the battery in, and then try to turn it on.
