Solve : Using AVG ? ?...you may wanna switch...?

Answer» Full Story...Nice... I have been using AVG for years.... Whats the best option other than AVG these days that hasnt turned to the dark side, very good at keeping problems out and free.. I use MSE....UNOBTRUSIVE...and effective.Just my 2 cents - and not to be argumentative, but personally I don't see where they're doing anything worrisome. They are GATHERING and selling "non-personal" data and selling that data - none of which can or will identify the user. Many - MANY COMPANIES do exactly the same thing. The only DIFFERENCE here is that they are informing the user that they are doing it. And if it helps fund their product and keep it free, good for them.Agreed...what's worrisome to me is their tactics of not informing Users...it was discovered by a third party...Quote from: Allan on September 21, 2015, 07:36:34 AM

I agree. Who do they think they are, Google? Microsoft?

The changelog/ToS/EULA/privacy policy has become the normal procedure for full disclosure. I blame app developers. They have been getting away with collecting device INFO. and more for years and years. Now it's a pretty routine procedure for everyone. Our data is now just another commodity.
