Solve : website won't load correctly?

Answer»

The website has worked in the past, and now the website will not work. It will take 3 minutes to LOAD and it will be a partial load. The format will be off, images/screencaps will not load. By using a proxy, I was allowed to access it on my computer, so I know the website is still working. I have no filters or firewalls on my computer that I know of. Unless something was clicked on by accident. Please HELP with any suggestions. I have a MacBook running with Mac OSx version 10.5.8
Thank you. What browser are you using?  Safari or Firefox?  Also, what version?

My first thought is to make sure you are up to date firefox UPDATES if you're using firefox.

Also, make sure that if the page is using Flash or Silverlight that you have the newest versions of those installed.I use both Safari and Firefox, both are up to current updates. As well, so is Adobe Flash player and still nothing. Quote from: nlfreder on September 21, 2009, 03:17:14 PM

I use both Safari and Firefox, both are up to current updates. As well, so is Adobe Flash player and still nothing.

Have you looked at the code for the website to see what plugin (if any) it's using?  If it's not flash player, you may need silverlight or something else. The PLUG in is Adobe Flash I believe because when I used a proxy to access it, it said need to download Adobe Flash and I have it already. Like I said I could access the site before. Please continue helpingWhen you say safari and firefox are up to current updates, can you be more specific?  I want to know what versions you're using.

Also, flash may be part of the site, but there may be more than flash.  Are you familiar with html code?

One thing that would help a lot is if you tell me what site you're trying to access.  If I can look at the code for the site I can better help you to assess what you're missing. What is the site URL?

shockwave didn't solve it

The site you sent me is only using 3 things:  Shockwave, Flash, and Javascript.  If it's still not working, you need to make sure shockwave and flash are up-to-date and javascript is turned on.  Other than that, all I can say is to try trashing your firefox and/or safari preference file and try it again.
