Solve : What are the best LCD monitor brands ??

Answer»

I'm in the market for a new LCD monitor...

I'm not good with brands, so if someone could give me some pointers..

I want it to be wide screen..I've used NEC, Samsung, & Acer. They're all pretty good. Where I work, we only buy NEC and I've never seen a dead pixel on any of them. Had one fail after a year, but since it was still under its original 3 year warranty, I just had to send it back for replacement.I've had good personal experiences with HannsG, AG Neovo, Acer and DGM.
At work we use Acer monitors exclusively, all of them work just great and have been doing so for a good period of time.
I can't speak from experience about any other brands, although I've not heard consistently negative things about any brand.I'm using a 22" V7 LCD monitor. D22W12 is the model. It's awesome and has no problems. 3 years and counting, it's still working fine, no dead pixels, no ghosting.

anyway, you can CHECK out Newgg.com and see customer reviews on VARIOUS LCD monitors they have on stock and see what fits you  Quote from: 2x3i5x on April 23, 2010, 12:51:30 PM

Good suggestion.

I've purchased two ASUS LCD monitors from newegg; first one on 5/29/2009 and second one on 11/29/2009.  I've been pleased with them. Super

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I had a Gateway LCD monitor that we got in the middle of 2007.  It lasted two years and failed.  I think it was either the inverter or back light that failed.  About 20 seconds AFTERS booting the screen would GO blank.  It was the same way when plugging it into another computer.  It didn't occur to me at the time that I could have replaced either part.  It has been placed back into the life-stream of electronic equipment, recycled.    I had big problems finding a good monitor.  I purchased a cheapish 24 inch LCD Samsung and promptly sent it back as the picture was awful.  I mean by that when viewing directly in front of and square to the screen, the top of the picture was much brighter than the bottom.  The same effect occurred when viewing from a little way from either side, in fact I found it unviewable if there is such a word.  I don’t know whether it was faulty or not.  However the old adage, ‘you get what you pay for’ I found is really important here!  I found the following site with all the information one could wish for about monitors.  It boils down to what type of panel the manufacturer is using.  The higher the quality of the flat panel, the higher the price and most importantly the better the picture of course!

I wanted a monitor for general use plus some TV viewing via an internal TV card.  After studying the site monitor information, 2 years ago I eventually purchased a 24 inch Dell 2408 Ultra Sharp model.  This unit is superb in every way as far as I am concerned and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a really good picture etc..  Of course it was quite a bit more EXPENSIVE than the Samsung, for me though more than worth it!  I hope this helps.
