Answer» Today, Apple made some of the most stupid changes I have ever seen in the store. First off, Mac OS X Lion released today. Ok everything is fine I guess... WRONG. One thing I don't agree on is the fact that you cant buy it on CD. Lets say you hard DRIVE fails. You replace it your self and then you are STUCK with installing 10.6 and then upgrading that to 10.7. Apple also made some changes to there products. For $999 dollars you can get a rich man's netbook (Macbook Air). No more white plastic macbooks . The specs on the new Macbook air are just BAD if you ask me. But I guess if you are looking for something that small, its worth it. There is also a new mac mini for $599, no CD drive anymore. Just to let you know, you can burn Lion to a DVD after you DOWNLOAD it fro the App Store. You can then use that anytime you want to reinstall Lion. Disc media is starting to be phased out bit by bit. The DVD divers in my computers get used 2 times a year at most. Also, the Air acually pretty censored fast thanks to the Solid state memory, and how OS X manages it's self. Macs aren't cheap, but they are by no means terrible. Also, the Air isn't a nethook, so I don't know where you get the idea that should be compared to one.Apple has now announced that you will be able to buy Lion on a USB key as well. "Users who do not have broadband access at home, work or school can download Lion at Apple retail stores and later this August, Lion will be made available on a USB thumb drive through the Apple Store® (www.apple.com) for $69 (US)." -AppleIt's small 11inch screen.
