Solve : Windows Media for Leopard?

Answer»

I need to be able to watch window media videos online through Safari, but I can't find a plug-in for Leopard. I downloaded Flip4Mac, but I still can't watch videos. I read the majority of the pdf and how to watch videos in the browser by turning off the SUPPORT, but that didn't work either. What am I doing WRONG? I need the plug in for school! I appreciate all the help! Do you have the newest version of FlipMac?
(Download it here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=915d874d-d747-4180-a400-5f06b1b5e559&DisplayLang=en )
Microsoft is no longer going through the [painful] process of developing WMP for the Macintosh, and therefor, it will be more difficult to use WMV/WMA files.

Have you tried opening videos in FireFox?
(www.firefox.com)I have already downloaded the latest version of Flip4mac.. I rather not have to download firefox, but if I have to I will.

The other solution would be to re-install Safari, if thats possible. It may be a plugins association that is causing the problem. If you reinstall Safari, as well as Flip4Mac, it should correct the issue. How do I reinstall Safari?

I'm going to go try Firefox, and if that doesn't work I'll try reinstall everything. I might have messed up, after all I am new to this! It comes up blank in firefox... but I can download the file and watch it but I just can't watch it in the browser Frankly I did do the courage to try installing it on my Macbook but it instead HURT my Rhub turbomeeting functionings. That was the day I last try this pc - mac combination...Sorry, I would have responded but I've been out of TOWN for the past couple of weeks.

I highly, highly recommend DOWNLOADING a free plugin called Perian. It's a great utility that allowed me to play almost all video formats in quicktime.

Try removing and reinstalling flip4mac (make sure you have the latest version), and then install perian (just for your other video formats).

let us know how it goes!I forgot to mention that they not too long ago released the correct version of flip4mac for leopard. http://www.macworld.com/article/131280/2007/12/flip4mac.html

If you had tiger or an older OS and then upgraded to leopard, chances are you have the wrong version of flip4mac. Remove it and install the newest version, and you should be good.
