Solve : Woman blames Dell for missing online classes?

Answer»
ABBIE Schubert paid more than $1,100 for a Dell laptop hoping to enroll in online classes at Madison Area Technical College, or MATC.

But something stopped her: she bought an operating system for her computer she never heard of, Ubuntu.

FAIL!
agreed.

according to the article, the computer came with openoffice. saying "duh, I didn't know it was compatible!" is pretty much saying, "I never even knew it was on the computer and if I did I never started it, and if I EVER did that I never looked at the "Save As" Dialog.

maybe NEXT time she should pay closer attention to the details of her order, especially when she paid 1,100 dollars for it.

additionally- when did Ubuntu EVER look like windows? The woman is clearly not fit to own a computer.
Now you might call me crazy, but when I spend money I actually look at what I'm buying. The more I spend, the closer I look. Weird, I know.
Saying the whole thing stemmed from that is just ridiculous - firstly she should have been aware what she was buying, secondly she should have learned how to use it or changed to Windows if she really couldn't be bothered. Saying Dell "discouraged" her by telling her the truth is just idiotic.

"Later, she discovered Ubuntu might look like Windows, but it doesn't always act like it."
What? No way!

I think I may have to do something ELSE before I bang my head on my desk and break it.thats why i prefer to buy at the Store instead. Dell should hire her instead of sending their Lawyers...that'll teach Her.Quote from: patio on January 17, 2009, 10:44:12 AM
