(ii) Moist climate:These regions are gifted with moist climate which provides favourable condition for the growth of cotton. (iii) Availability of cheap labour: Maharashtra and Gujarat are densely populated states. Migrated people are also there in large numbers. As a result, there is no dearth of labour force in these two cities. (iv) Accessible port facilities: Mumbai is a major seaport in India. This forms the base of important export of cotton.
