The electrical circuit used to get smooth dc output from a rectifier circuit is known as a RECTIFIER CIRCUIT.

In a rectifier, a DIODE is used to get a dc CURRENT output. Such type of RECTIFIERS are known as HALF WAVE RECTIFIERS.

To make a full wave rectifier, we use two diodes instead of one.

To get the smooth dc output, we use FILTER circuits. In these, I KNOW two types which we can use.
1. Series Inductor filter circuit -
Inductor is used.

2. CAPACITOR filter circuit - by using capacitor.
