1.

The length of the second's pendulum in a clock is increased to4 times its initial length. Calculate the number of oscillationscompleted by the new pendulum in one minute.

Answer»

We know thatf=1/T

Where f is the Frequency & T is the Time Period

Therefore , T=2π *√(L/g)————(1) Where L is the Initial length of the Pendulum

When L=4L,

T1=2π *√(4L/g)

=√4*(2π *√(L/g))

=2*(2π *√(L/g))

From(1) We get that , T1=2T

Therefore,f1=1/T1 =1/2T

So we get that f1 = 1/2f

So we can conclude that, When the length of the Simple Pendulum is increased 4 times of its initial length, its frequency will be reduced to half of the initial frequency.
