Answer» The period of a periodic wave is 0.02s. At a particular position, there is a crest at t = 0. A trough appears at this position at t = 0.01.Reason: Time period of an oscillation is the time taken for one complete oscillation. The distance between two consecutive crests or two consecutive troughs is called the wavelength. The crest and following trough make half the wavelength. Therefore, the time taken will be half the time period i.e. 0.02/ 2 = 0.01. Since the crest is at t=0, the next trough will be at t=0.01. |
