so, when COM is at x = 1cm and 10kg is at 7cm

the the expression becomes

Xcm = (m1x1 +m2x2)/(m1+m2)

=> 1= 10*7+30*(x2)/(10+30)=> 40 = 70 +30(x2)=> x2 = (40-70)/30 = -1cm...

30 kg mass should be moved 1cm away.
