Two stones are thrown with same speed u at differentangles from ground in air. If both stones have samerange and height attained by them are h, andthen h, + h2 is equal to18.222g22(3) 3q4) 4g

Answer»

consider theeta to be 'q' here

we know that the range of two projectiles projected at different angles is same when one of the projectile is projected at angle q and the other at ( 90- q )

so heigh of projectile 1 = u2sin2q/2g

and height of the other projectile = u2sin2(90-q)/2g = u2cos2q/2g (since sin(90-q) = cosq )

so add the heights of both the projectiles

u2/2g ( sin2q + cos2q) = u2/2g ( since cos2q + sin2q = 1 )

so option number two is correct
