Finding efficiency is done by two methods, 1) Direct 2) Indirect Direct: its direct loading of machine, find input and output by Metering equipment and find efficiency. Advantages: 1) Simple process, 2) no much CALCULATIONS needed, 3) Simple setup 4) Disadvantages: 1) It's not economical to do this test on large rating machines as, just for the sake of test you can't waste large amount energy. 2) You can't get information about the SHARE of different types of losses 3) It's a difficult task arrange different kinds for load (R,L,C) from no load to full load to study performance at different SITUATIONS.
