Answer» Haha, good question, but we hardly USE that as an abbreviation and it means Exposure COMPENSATION it's a setting or adjustment used to gain the extra exposure value for a picture mostly to get desirable results in low light conditions or whenever an off camera flash isn't BRIGHT enough already and we don't want to change any other settings such as ISO or shutter speed.
