Answer» As far as I know, in CLASSICAL physics, "free space" is synonymous with "perfect VACUUM" and refers to a region in space DEVOID of any MATTER particles. This is of course an IDEALIZATION over practically attainable vacuum which contains a negligibly small, but non-zero amount of matter. |
