What will happen to the volume of a cube, if its edge is(i) halved(ii) trebled?

Answer»

Given,

Let edge of cube = a

So volume of cube = a3

Case (i)

Edge become = \(\frac{a}{2}\)

Volume become = \((\frac{a}{2})^3\)\(\frac{a^3}{8}\) = \(\frac{1}{8}\) times

Case (ii)

Edge becomes = 3a

Volume become = \((3a)^3\) = 27a3 = 27 times
