Answer»

Solution :When a SOLID MELTS, the temperature remains the same though the heat is CONTINUOUSLY supplied. The heat supplied is used up in overcoming the force of internomecular ATTRACTION of solid. This RESULTS in the conversion of solid into liquid. This heat is known as latent heat.
