1.

Why nitrogen gas is used to fill electric bulbs?

Answer»

A bulb is filled with an inert gas such as argon ornitrogen slows down the evaporation of the tungsten filament compared to operating it in a vacuum. This allows for greater temperature and therefore results in greater efficiency of filament life.

Inert gases reduce the rate of evaporation rate of tungsten metal used in Filament of bulbs. Thus it increases the efficiency of bulbs. N2 gas is an inert gas. That's why the bulbs are filled with nitrogen.
