∴ a= x + y 

And a= 2x+y 

So, common difference of an A.P. is given by 

d = a2 – a1 

= (2x+y)-(x+y) 

= x

nth term Tn​ of an AP is given by Tn​=x.n+y

also we know

d=Tn​−Tn−1​

d=x.n+y−(x(n−1)+y)

  =x.n+y−xn+x−y=x

d=x
