Write a short note on chacha nehru sports awards |
Answer» Presently, the Board has approximately 15,000 affiliated schools spread throughout the country and a few schools situated outside India. The schools include Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, State Govt. Schools, Sainik Schools, Army Schools and nearly 10,000 Independent Category (Private) schools. With a clear objective of developing a balanced personality, the Board launched the CBSE Inter School Sports & Games Competitions for its Independent Category of Schools in the year 1996 with a total commitment to the youth of the country since the role of Sports & Games is very effective medium for developing proper attitudes, values & adjustment tendencies in life. The participation of every child in these competitions and derive optimum advantage from this programme was urged. It was felt that though there are lot of enthusiasm & talents in the sports activities but these talents are not adequately nurtured & developed. At most, the Champion Players or Teams are given only Merit/Participation Certificates and Cup /Shield.Sometimes parents feel that it is not worth spending time in sports and games because it does not give any monetary support. Sometimes schools also do not come forward to provide necessary support systems in sports & games because it is not giving them any recognition in quantifiable terms. This mindset of the parents and the schools gives negative impact on the learners, which subsequently put an impact in performances at higher level. In some cases students do not have adequate support mechanisms to buy required sports equipments and accessories on their own. Students who show immense talent in sports and games need competition. This motto was pronounced by Baron Pierre De Coubertin at Paris Olympics in 1900.

What do you mean by transfer of learning? Discuss types of transfer of learning |
Answer» The terms transfer of learning is also termed as transfer of training or transfer effect. It refers to the effects of prior learning on new learning. Transfer is considered to be positive if the earlier learning facilitates current learning. If new learning is related then it is considered to be negative transfer. Absence of facilitative of retarding effect means zero transfer. Specific experimental designs are used by psychologists to study the transfer effects. For example, a person wants to know whether learning of English language affects learning of French. To study this he selects a large sample of participants. He randomly divide the sample into two groups, one to be used in the experimental condition and the other as control group. The experimental group of participants learns English language for a year and is tested to find out their achievements in English. In the second year, they study French. In the end this group is tested to find out its achievement scores in French. The control groups in the first phase does not learn English language and just does it routine work for one year. In the second year, these participants learn French for a year and their achievement scores are obtained. The achievement scores in French of the two groups are then compared. If the achievement score of the experimental group is higher than that of the control group, it implies that positive transfer has taken place, if the score is lower than the control group, it means negative transfer has taken place, if the two groups perform equally well then it shows that transfer effect is zero.
