3. Compare Ashoka's reforms with government reforms in the twentiethcentury |
|
Answer» Answer: could as well be another new year in the 20th. One hundred years ago, India was a picture of STAGNANCY; imperial POWER was reigning supreme, and the economic circumstances of the INDIAN people, having reached a nadir, remained unaltered between the decades. Agriculture, the principal economic activity, was responsible for as much as 80 PER cent of national output; 90 per cent of the working population depended on it. In the event of good rainfall, farm output would rise and the overall economic situation would LOOK up marginally. But bad years of monsoon alternated fairly regularly with good ones, rendering millions of countrymen into helpless victims of soothsayers, unsure of their future. All this led to the coinage of the expression: the Indian economy is a gamble on the monsoon. It could hardly be otherwise, for British non-enterprise and detachment ensured that few irrigation works were available to augment the supply of water for purposes of cultivation in most parts of the country beyond what the rain gods would offer. Agriculture was the nation's lifeline; if the monsoon failed, the lifeline collapsed. Explanation: plz Mark as brainliest |

Write a note on silk production in china? |
Answer» hey mate here is your answer...The production of silk originates in China in the NEOLITHIC (Yangshao culture, 4th millennium BC). Silk remained confined to China until the Silk Road opened at some point during the LATER half of the 1st millennium BC. China maintained its virtual monopoly over silk production for another thousand years. Not confined to clothing, silk was also used for a number of other applications, including writing, and the color of silk worn was an important guide of social class during the Tang dynasty. Silk cultivation spread to Japan around 300 AD, and, by 552 AD, the Byzantines managed to obtain silkworm eggs and were able to begin silkworm cultivation. The Arabs also began to manufacture silk at the same time. As a result of the spread of sericulture, Chinese silk exports became less important, although they still maintained dominance over the luxury silk market. The Crusades brought silk production to Western Europe, in particular to many Italian states, which saw an economic boom exporting silk to the rest of Europe. Changes in manufacturing techniques also began to take place during the Middle Ages, with devices such as the spinning wheel first appearing. During the 16th century, FRANCE joined Italy in developing a successful silk trade, though the efforts of most other nations to develop a silk industry of their own were unsuccessful. The Industrial Revolution changed much of Europe's silk industry. Due to innovations on spinning cotton, cotton became much cheaper to manufacture and therefore caused more expensive silk production to become less mainstream. New WEAVING technologies, however, increased the efficiency of production. Among these was the Jacquard loom, developed for silk embroidery. An epidemic of several silkworm diseases caused production to fall, especially in France, where the industry never recovered. In the 20th century Japan and China regained their earlier role in silk production, and China is now once again the world's largest producer of silk. The rise of new fabrics such as nylon reduced the prevalence of silk throughout the world, and silk is now once again a rare luxury good, much less important than in its heyday. hope this answer helps you..❤❤❤ |

L want some information about Taj Mahal plz |
|
Answer» The Taj Mahal is located on the right bank of the Yamuna River in a vast Mughal garden that encompasses nearly 17 hectares, in the Agra District in Uttar Pradesh. It was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal with construction starting in 1632 AD and completed in 1648 AD, with the mosque, the guest house and the main gateway on the south, the outer courtyard and its cloisters were added subsequently and completed in 1653 AD. The existence of several historical and Quaranic inscriptions in Arabic script have facilitated setting the chronology of Taj Mahal. For its construction, masons, stone-cutters, inlayers, carvers, painters, calligraphers, DOME builders and other artisans were requisitioned from the whole of the empire and also from the Central Asia and Iran. Ustad-Ahmad Lahori was the main architect of the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is considered to be the greatest architectural achievement in the whole range of Indo-Islamic architecture. Its recognised architectonic beauty has a rhythmic combination of solids and voids, concave and convex and light shadow; such as ARCHES and domes further increases the aesthetic aspect. The colour combination of lush green scape reddish pathway and blue sky over it show cases the monument in ever changing tints and moods. The relief work in marble and inlay with precious and semi precious stones make it a monument apart. The uniqueness of Taj Mahal LIES in some truly remarkable innovations carried out by the horticulture planners and architects of Shah Jahan. One such genius planning is the placing of tomb at one end of the quadripartite garden rather than in the exact centre, which added rich DEPTH and perspective to the distant view of the monument. It is also, one of the best examples of raised tomb variety. The tomb is further raised on a square platform with the four sides of the octagonal base of the minarets extended beyond the square at the corners. The top of the platform is reached through a lateral flight of steps provided in the centre of the southern side. The ground plan of the Taj Mahal is in perfect balance of composition, the octagonal tomb chamber in the centre, encompassed by the portal halls and the four corner rooms. The plan is repeated on the upper floor. The exterior of the tomb is square in plan, with chamfered corners. The large double storied domed chamber, which houses the cenotaphs of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan, is a perfect octagon in plan. The exquisite octagonal marble lattice screen encircling both cenotaphs is a piece of superb workmanship. It is highly polished and richly decorated with inlay work. The borders of the frames are inlaid with precious stones representing flowers executed with wonderful perfection. The hues and the shades of the stones used to make the leaves and the flowers appear almost real. The cenotaph of Mumtaz Mahal is in perfect centre of the tomb chamber, placed on a rectangular platform decorated with inlaid flower plant motifs. The cenotaph of Shah Jahan is greater than Mumtaz Mahal and installed more than thirty years later by the side of the LATTER on its west. The upper cenotaphs are only illusory and the real graves are in the lower tomb chamber (crypt), a practice adopted in the imperial Mughal tombs. The four free-standing minarets at the corners of the platform added a hitherto unknown dimension to the Mughal architecture. The four minarets provide not only a kind of spatial reference to the monument but also give a three dimensional effect to the edifice. hope it helps if can mark me as brainlist |

Q6. Name the regions of the world that conducted trade with China in itsearly history. What were the main exports of China? |
|
Answer» Trade is a KEY factor of the economy of China. The last 256 years that followed after the Communist takeover in 1949, China's trade institutions developed into a partially modern but somewhat inefficient system. The drive to modernize the economy that began in 1978 required a sharp acceleration in commodity flows and greatly improved efficiency in economic transactions. In the ensuing years economic reforms was adopted by the government to develop a socialist market economy. This type of economy combined CENTRAL planning with market mechanisms. The changes resulted in the decentralization and expansion of domestic and foreign trade institutions, as well as a greatly enlarged role for free market, s in the distribution of goods, and a prominent role for foreign trade and investment in economic development. In 2013 China surpassed the United States as the largest trading nation in the world and plays a vital role in international trade,[1] and has increasingly engaged in trade organizations and treaties in recent years. China became a member of the World Trade Organization in 2001.[2] China also has free trade agreements with several nations, including China–Australia Free Trade Agreement, China–South Korea Free Trade Agreement, ASEAN–China Free Trade Area, Switzerland and Pakistan.[3] Agriculture Edit Approximately 63 percent of the population was located in rural areas, where the majority of people worked in agriculture and rural industries. Under the responsibility system for agriculture instituted in 1981, the household REPLACED the production team as the basic production unit. Families contracted with the economic collective to farm a plot of land, delivered a set amount of grain or other produce and the agricultural tax to the state, and paid a fee to the collective. After meeting these obligations, the household was free to retain its surplus produce or sell it on free markets. Restrictions on private plots and household sideline production were lifted, and MUCH of the produce from these were also sold on free markets. Distribution of food and other agricultural goods to urban consumers, industry and rural areas deficient in food was carried out primarily by the state and secondarily by producers or cooperatives. The state PROCURED agricultural goods by means of taxes in kind and by purchases by state commercial departments (state trading companies) under the Ministry of Commerce. The agricultural tax was not large, falling from 12 percent of the total value of agricultural output in 1952 to 5 percent in 1979. hope it helps if can mark me as brainlist |

Arrange the following sets of rational number in descending order - 4/9,-21/-18,1/7,7/-12 |
|
Answer» First we express the given rational numbers in the form so that their denominators are positive. We have, −7−12 = (−7)×(−1)(−12)×(−1), [Multiplying the NUMERATOR and denominator by -1] ⇒ −7−12 = 712 and 11−24 = 11×(−1)(−24)×(−1) = −1124 Thus, given rational numbers are: 49, −56, 712, −1124 Now, we find the LCM of 9, 6, 12 and 24. Required LCM = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 = 72. We now write the rational numbers so that they have a common denominator 72. We have, 49 = 4×89×8, [Multiplying the numerator and denominator by 72 ÷ 9 = 8] ⇒ 49 = 3272 −56 = −5×126×12, [Multiplying the numerator and denominator by 72 ÷ 6 = 12] ⇒ −56 = −6072 712 = 7×612×6, [Multiplying the numerator and denominator by 72 ÷ 12 = 6] ⇒ 712 = 4272 −1124 = −11×324×3, [Multiplying the numerator and denominator by 72 ÷ 24 = 3] ⇒ −1124 = −3372 Arranging the numerators of these rational numbers in descending order, we have 42 > 32 > -33 > -60 ⇒ 4272 > 3272 > −3372 > −6072 ⇒ −7−12 > 49 > 11−24 > −56 Hence, the given numbers when arranged in descending order are: −7−12, 49, 11−24, −56.
