Write a conversation on freedom fighters between students

Answer»

Explanation:

Mohan Karamchand Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru were two of the most prominent figures in the Indian Freedom Movement that drove the British away from India in 1947 after having ruled here for a 190 years. Both Gandhi and Nehru were barristers educated in England and with an exceptional command of the English language. Gandhi was Nehru's senior by 20 years and his mentor within the Indian National Congress, the only political party taken seriously by the British Monarchy. Gandhi, though not an office-bearer in the Congress but a terrific MORAL FORCE within it, came to be known as ‘Bapu' and ‘Mahatma', and was generally REGARDED as the father of the Freedom Movement and Jawaharlal Nehru, his favourite, was considered to be his spiritual son. They corresponded on a variety of political and social matters of moral and ethical IMPORT for over 27 years from 1921 to 1947. Uma Iyengar and Lalitha Zackariah have brought for the SPECIALIST and layman alike, 479 letters that tell us as much about the times that Gandhi and Nehru lived in as they do about their respective personalities.

The oldest piece of correspondence is a telegram sent by Nehru to Gandhi dated May 9, 1921. At 31, Nehru already shows a grasp of politics not seen in older colleagues. His response to a migration of labour from tea gardens in Assam, to their homes in Gorakhpur, UP, after being retrenched during the Depression following World War I is uncanny. He informs Gandhi, “Chandpur situation critical having important bearing on all India movement. Case of general noncooperation and not labour strike.” He is proved right by the situation on the ground. “The plantation owners, worried by this great exodus, sought to enlist both official and non-official assistance to prevent this large-scale migration” (Footnote no.2, pg 1).

A story and title "the race against time"

Answer»

Answer:

Her MIND raced as she struggled to find a solution to her DILEMMA. There just weren’t any obvious possibilities, and time was working against her. With only hours left to figure it out, the young woman wasn’t any closer than when she had started.

Suffice it to say, the outlook was not good.

She had spent a while looking through several photo albums to see if she could glean a clue but to no AVAIL. One album had seemed promising, but it turned out that there wasn’t nearly enough in it for her to go on. As she had wasted most of her time on the photos, she would now be forced to work too quickly for comfort.

Had there been anything unusual about her holiday celebrations? As far as she could recall, everything had gone smoothly. Christmas had been quiet as always, with just a few guests. New Year’s Eve had been a little more boisterous, of course, but that was normal. She would get nothing from her holiday memories.

Come to think of it, it wasn’t just going through photos that had taken up so much of her time. She had been rather busy today, which was foolish of her. She should have known better than run out on errands that had nothing to do with the urgent task at hand.

Anxiously, the young woman checked the clock. In theory, she had seven hours left. In practice, however, she only had about five. Once the night became late, her brain would become sluggish, unable to provide the answer to her problem. And beyond knowing the answer, she also needed time to organize it into a coherent, believable format.

“I’m doomed,” she whispered, with a shiver. No, wait—she couldn’t just give up. Not yet, not while there was still a chance of success.

She scanned her bedroom for any important objects. Sure, there were her beloved books, but it would take too long to discover which ones might be useful, if any. The pair of ancient goldfish slowly swimming around their tank couldn’t tell her anything. But wait—what about her other pets?

That wouldn’t do at all, she realized. She had exhausted all of those options weeks ago. There wouldn’t be any more useful information in the histories of her dogs and cats. Seriously, was it even possible for her to come up with a workable idea by nightfall?

Anyway, back to her room. Were there any hints in the pictures on the wall or the bookcase? A hummingbird so energetic that it was composed of paint splatters, a girl in a gorgeous pink dress, three metal birds in a row, portraits of cats MADE from maps, a golden eagle with a noble expression—still nothing. Her mind was a blank.

It was hopeless.

The young woman collapsed onto her bed and wrapped the fluffy comforter around herself, swamped by despair. Again and again she racked her brain, desperately trying to come up with something, anything, that could get her out of this predicament.

She knew that unless she was struck with sudden inspiration, she would never be able to solve this conundrum. Waiting was all that was left for her to do, stuck as she was in this quandary. Perhaps listening to a bit of music would help…

Her laptop lay nearby on the bed. She sat up and opened the computer, and soon had some of her favorite music playing to soothe her frayed nerves. With a sigh, she clicked the icon for her word-processing software. After all, there were worse things to do than staring at a blank document while wishing for a stroke of brilliance.

As yet, she had never failed to complete her work on time. If she was lucky, an idea would POP into her head soon, and allow her to still write her column and turn it in to the newspaper before the deadline. One could only hope.

A short story on theme a day I had chance to see first movie

Answer»

Answer:

The day had arrived. The day, for which I had waited for so long, was finally here. I could not sleep the entire NIGHT thinking about it.  I was going to act along with my favorite actor Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. I got out of bed and got ready. I put my finest clothes and went on to the sets of the movie. I was obviously a bit nervous. It was my first day. I met Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and he tried to calm me down. I had tears in my eyes as I was unable to control my emotions. I got prepared to give a shot. However, my nerves have been BETTER of me and I fumbled. It was embarrassing. It was all a mess. Everybody was LAUGHING at me and the director was furious. He said that I had spoiled the whole day and he would be replacing me. All this was too much to take for me and I started crying like a little baby. I kept shouting for my mother. SUDDENLY, I felt a jolt and saw my mother in front of me. But, I was not on the SET, I was instead in my bed. Oh! what a nightmare it was!

Moral: The situation may be good or bad you will remember your mother.

Essay on measure of intelligence is the ability to change in 500 words

Answer»

Answer:

The measure of intelligence is the ability to change

These famous words by Albert Einstein contain lots of wisdom and practical wisdom.  It is absolutely TRUE one’s ability to change determines one’s intelligence level. Change is a great quality. If you can adapt, you can achieve anything. All great PEOPLE who achieved phenomenal success had this quality. In their pursuit of their goals when they failed repeatedly, they changed their strategies and COURSE to accomplish their goals and finally succeeded.

One really has to change to be successful. Have you ever seen a river? How meandering and winding is its course! Do you know why? Well, river is the greatest example of change. Whenever any obstacle comes in its way, it either makes its course round or flows over it. And finally reaches its destination, the sea. Similarly, if a man wishes to be successful, he must adapt himself to the challenges he faces. He must not stop making efforts. He must change his strategies and be successful. Sometimes it is wiser to go round an obstacle than be deterred by its formidable height.

Even in the evolutionary process only those animals survived that were quick to adapt; big animals such as dinosaurs under whose thuds shook the earth were wiped out. On the contrary small animals like platypuses, cockroaches, bees, turtles, etc. could survive because they adapted to the changes.

All great men and women achieved success following the PRINCIPLE of change. Intelligence MAY help us in life, but change definitely helps us much more. So learn to change yourself according to the situation. If one way of accomplishing something is not working, try another strategy or route. Don’t be obdurate. Learn to change and adapt.
