State the importance of the presence of furnace in the village in Goa

Answer»

The importance of the presence of furnace in the village in Goa:

The presence of ‘furnace in the village’ in Goa is for the bakeries which are an important part of Goan culture. Goa had been under the Portuguese rule for a long time. Even after they left their culture existed among the Goans. The Goan bakery was one of them.

Every village had its furnace belonging to the bakers. Goan bread is a favourite item for BREAKFAST. No Goan FESTIVAL is complete without bread from the village bakery. Be it Christmas, or a marriage ceremony or any festival Goan bread is a must. The Goan village baker occupies an important position in the society.

Write an essay on human life from begining till end

Answer»

Answer:

Though our society has ADAPTED and developed, inequality remains prevalent all around the WORLD. Our society assigns value to human live based on ethnicity and gender. Currently around the world there are over 30 MILLION slaves in which 60,000 are in the United States. Even though slavery has been abolished in nearly every COUNTRY many people still measure the value of individuals in cents and DOLLARS. Should life be calculated in terms of money? How should we as a society assign value to a persons life? I personally believe that you can't assign a price to someones life and you shouldn’t It’s both politically and morally unjust.

Everyone lives a different life full of their own individual experiences.

Article on growth of the junk food menace in India

Answer»

IN today’s age of convenience, fast food needs no introduction. Everyone from a two-year-old toddler to a 60-year-old seems to enjoy fast food.

It’s delicious, filling, and affordable. It is readily available just any time of the day. Living life in the fast lane, fast food is the only alternative.

However, fast food is not nutritionally balanced and, therefore, unhealthy if consumed on a regular basis.

Fast food is loaded with calories from refined sugar and fats (especially, the artery-clogging saturated and hydrogenated fats, which are repeatedly reheated to high temperatures for frying purposes). Most junk food is made by adding chemical additives to improve the flavour and colour. The additives also function to INCREASE its vitality.

However, it has been proved that these substances cause behavioural problems in children, such as hyperactivity. They are also said to have caused various diseases in children. Products such as instant noodles, potato chips and chocolate bars raise the kilojoule intake and lead to weight gain.

The consumption of junk foods by children has many side effects and, therefore, should be reduced. Unhealthy diets cause health and behavioural problems in both children and adults.

India’s impressive economic growth in previous decades and more inclusive growth recent YEARS have not only resulted in steadily increasing income but it brought SOCIO cultural transformation. In this process globalization and increasing urbanization contributed immensely. India with rich heritage of foods and recipes had the tradition of preparing foods by deep frying in fats. This situation is getting complicated by emerging fast food culture in all sections of society primarily due to their readily availability, easy to access, taste, marketing strategies and cafeteria culture. Therefore it becomes imperative to introspect about fast food consumption. There are enough scientific evidences in India to substantiate that fast food have become integral component of diet in all section of society. High consumption of fast food has been reported in school going children and this is quite substantial in college and university students - in spite of the fact that a significant proportion of population are aware about adverse consequences of fast food consumption. Children of pregnant and lactating women eating fast foods are more prone to obesity. High fat and high sugar diet leads to change in fetal brain reward pathway ALTERING food preferences. Fast food consumption is rising in India across all income categories and this is CONTRIBUTING significantly to rising trend of

non-communicable diseases (Ncds) in this country. Regulation of marketing and nutritional labeling is not up to mark in India. Growing menace of fast food consumption needs to be restricted by adopting legal, service and education approaches for promoting healthy dietary practices. I hope it prove helpful

Oil conservation to wards healthy and better Environment 700 words

Answer»

Answer:

Oil Conservation towards Healthy and Better Environment

Oil conservation is the direst need of the hour. The rate at which humans have been using the fossil FUELS is not only consuming future resources for the coming generations, but is also polluting our environment alarmingly. The aftermath and fallout of the excessive use of fossil fuels have adversely affected man. Our environment is like a gigantic balloon of transparent life-supporting gases that are being polluted with the tar-like emissions. Conserving oil will not only keep the oil reserves for future generations, but will also help us conserve our environment. Let us see how reckless use of oil results in unwanted consequences.

Global Warming: Burning of fossil fuels has damaged this beautiful balloon to such an extent that reclaiming it to its pristine purity and beauty is impossibility. Man, the foolish creature, fails to see that his very existence depends on this balloon. It is a known fact that carbon dioxide, a gas released when fossil fuels are burnt, is one of the primary gases responsible for global warming. Rise in temperature of earth has resulted in melting of polar ice caps, flooding of low lying areas and rise in sea levels. If such conditions continue, our planet Earth might face some serious consequences in near future.

Health Hazards: Besides damaging the environment, air pollution caused by the emission of gases produced in burning of fuels can result in asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, and lung cancer. Long-term exposure may increase respiratory infections in general people. Natural flora and fauna get affected with the toxic emissions that further complicate the ecological imbalance.

Burden on National Economy: India is one of the largest importers of oil from foreign countries. A major chunk of our national funds get spent on oil imports. According to a data India spent USD 111.9 billion on oil imports in 2018-19. If we had some other alternative fuel for oil, we could have saved so much of our funds and spent on other developmental activities.

Future Implications: Conservation of fuel is not only the urgent need of the current times. This colossal task can be accomplished by participation of all the people. Sagacious and frugal use of fossil fuels is the direst need of the hour. The present rate at which the fossil fuels are being used is quite alarming. There won't be left anything for the coming generations. We will be called highly selfish generation, if we don't leave fuels for the future generations. We need to put our acts together. We must follow the principles of sustainable development. After all it is our responsibility to bequeath a healthy and prosperous planet. Being parents and elders it is our moral responsibility.

Exploring Alternatives for Oil Fuel: The best option in front of us at present to tackle the problems posed by fossil fuels is the option of using alternative SOURCES of energy. The ever increasing demand for energy cannot be met by the fossil fuels. It will lead to environmental collapse as well as utter depletion. Renewable energy sources are the best bet in the scenario. And what can be a better renewable resource than the sun? Besides, it is a renewable and clean energy source. Taking both environmental and economic cost, solar energy WORKS cheaper than fossil fuel resources. Once we master techniques to harness solar energy, it can be a vital source of power ACROSS the entire planet.

Electric Vehicles: The rise in economic activity and the burgeoning population have led to a tremendous demand in the transport sector, especially in urban India. In the near future, India's urban population is EXPECTED to grow five fold to a staggering 200 million; pollution will also grow alarmingly. With this tremendous growth has emerged a very critical issue of keeping air and noise pollution in urban areas under control. The viable solution to the above mentioned problems is the use of electric vehicles (EVs) on the roads. EVs will reduce pollution by 16 lakh metric tons. The Government must promote and encourage people to replace their pollution-causing vehicles with smart zero-emission vehicles. For this the Government must make stricter laws to protect the environment. The Government must also provide subsidy on these smart vehicles.

In conclusion it can be said that if we have to conserve our oil and save our environment. It is possible only through minimizing the use of oil and replacing the fossil fuels with alternative sources of energy. We must switch over to them as early as we can for a brighter, healthier and safer future!
