1.

A 5 Omega resistor is connected across a battery of 6 volts. Calculate: (i) the current flowing through the resistor. (ii) the energy that dissipates as heat in 10s.

Answer»

Solution :Here V=6V and R=`5 OMEGA`
(i) The current flowing through the RESISTOR `I=V/R=(6V)/(5 Omega)=1.2 A`
(II) Energy dissipated as heat in time t=10s is
`therefore H=I^2 RT=(1.2)^2 times 5times 10=72 J`
