Answer» SOLUTION :Given:v= 15 cm (REAL image ) f = 10 cm (Convex lens ) To find : Object DISTANCE (U) Magnificaion (M) Characterication of the image Solution:`1/v - 1/u = 1/f ` `1/15 - 1/u = 1/10` `therefroe"" 1/u = 1/15 - 1/10` `1/u = (2-3)/(30)` `1/u = -1/30 ` u = -30 `therefore` Distance of the image = 30 cm Magnification (M) = `v/u = 15/-30 = -0.5` ` therefore` Magnification = 0.5 The NEGATIVE sign indicates the image formed is real. The image formed will be rea, inverted and diminished. |
