A spherical mirror produces an image of manification -1 on a screen placed at distance of 50 cm from the mirror. (i) Write the type of mirror. (ii) Find the distance of theimage from the object. (iii) What is the focal length of the mirror? (iv) Draw the ray diagram to show the image formation in this case. |

Answer» Solution :(i) As magnification is negative, the IMAGE formed is real. Hence it is a CONCAVE mirror. (II) `m=-v//u=-1` `u=-v=-50cm` Distance of the image FORM the object `v-u=-50-(-50)=0cm` (ii) By using mirror formula. `1//f=1//v+1//u` `=1//(-50)+1//(-50)=-1//25` `f=-25cm`
