Let the speed of A is x km/hr and speed of B is y km/hr. 

Let them meet after t hours. Then, 

xT + yT = Total distance 

After the meeting, distance left for A = yT and the distance left for B = xT 

Now, yT = 4x and xT = 9y

∴ \(\frac{yT}{xT} = \frac{4x}{9y}⇒\frac{x^2}{y^2}=\frac94⇒\frac{x}{y}=\frac32\) ⇒ x : y = 3 : 2
