Solution :WHITE ash collected in watch-glass is of magnesium oxide (MGO).
Note : Due to `O_(2)` and `N_(2)` present in air, Mgo is formed as a major product, moreover traces of `Mg_(3)N_(2)` is ALSO OBTAINED.
