| Answer» In December\xa01929, under the Presidency of Jawaharlal Nehru, the\xa0Lahore Congress\xa0formalised the\xa0demand\xa0of \'Purna Swaraj\' or full independence for India. It was declared that 26 January 1930 would be celebrated as the Independence Day when people were to take a pledge to struggle for complete independence.\xa0At the\xa01929 Lahore session\xa0of the Indian National\xa0Congress, the resolution of Poorna Swaraj or complete independence was\xa0taken\xa0up. It was also decided that the\xa0Congress\xa0would boycott the Round Table Conference being held in London and observe 26 January 1930 as the first independence day of India. | |
