Answer» Some of the challenges that our Democratic system faces are:\tPoverty, illiteracy, unemployment continue to hamper the progress of the country.\xa0\tEven though we have established formal equality there exist a gap between theory and\xa0practice. Several groups continue to be discriminated. Caste, gender discrimination continues to haunt our society which are surely inimical to progress and development.\tRampant corruption, red tapism, delays in the public process acts as a major hindrance.\tExploitation of caste, religion for narrow political gains has surely undermined the meaning of democracy.\tUse of money power, muscle power, vote bank politics during elections again raises misgivings about the democratic success of our country.\tRise of many parties, groups leading to conflicting claims and instability. 1) Poverty, illiteracy, unemployment are prevalent in most parts of India,barriers in national progress.2) Caste and gender discrimination continues to prevail in Indian Society, slackening advancement and development.3) Rampant corruption, red tapism, delays in Public Justice are weakening the foundation of Democracy.4) Exploitation of minorities in different castes and religions for narrow political gains has undermined the whole concept of democracy.5) Use of money and muscle power during elections reflects Democracy\'s shortcomings.Challenges faced by the Indian democracy: Poverty,Corruption, Political Instability, Slow Decision making process, illiteracy. |
