Explain forms of power sharing

Answer» ◆Vertical form: In this type, power can be shared among governments at different levels, like union, state and local levels of government , involves higher and lower levels of the government. In this, constitution clearly lays down the power of different levels. There is no concept of checks and balances. Power is clearly given by the constutution from higher level to the lower level.
◆Horizontal form: It is an arrangement in which power is shared among different organs of the government such as the legislature, the executive and the judiciary. It specifies the concept of checks and balances in order to check the exercise of unlimited powers of the organs. In this type, different organs of government exercise different powers.
Power sharing has 2 types: horizontal division of power and vertical division of power.
