(a) The partial pressure of the gas above the liquid (vapour phase) is directly proportional to the mole fraction of the gas dissolved in the liquid.

(b) Boiling Point Elevation Constant: It is equal to elevation in boiling point of 1 molal solution, i.e.,mole of solute is dissolved in 1kg of solvent.
