Answer» SOLUTION :CORROSION : Metals are attacked by atmospheric oxygen, carbon dioxide and moisture and are converted into metal oxides and carbonates. This phenomenon is called corrosion. In the case of iron, corrosion is called rusting. Green coating on copper and black coating on silver are examples of corrosion. Corrosion ruduces the strength of the metal. Thus, it causes damage to BODIES, bridges, RAILINGS, ships, ETC. Corrosion can be prevented by applying paints on metal articles. |
