Find the equation of the line which cuts intercepts 2 units and 5 units from x-axis and y-axis respectively.

Equation of a line in intercepts form is

\(\frac{x}{a}\) + \(\frac{y}{b}\) = 1 …(i)

Given, a = 2 and b = 5

∴ (1) ⇒ \(\frac{x}{2}\) + \(\frac{y}{5}\) = 1

⇒ 5x + 2y – 10 = 0, is the required equation of the line.
