Solution :1.The magnification produced by a lens is the RATIO of height of the image and the height of the object .
`therefore` Magnification = `(Height of the image)/(Height of the object ) "i.e. M" = (h_(2))/(h_(1))…………..(1)`
2. Magnification produced by a lens is ALSO related to the object DISTANCE (u)and image distance (v).
3. from the equaitons (1) and (2) we can SAY that, M = `(h_(2))/(h_(1)) = v/u`
