Answer» Solution : From the molecular formula alone, we cannot KNOW the NATURE of the compound. Because, `C_4H_10`may also REPRESENT a butane molecule or a molecule of 2-methylpropane. Therefore, we MUST know the structural formula and IUPAC name of the compound.
