How did print bring the reading public and the hearing public closer? |

Answer» i) Earlier was a hearing public but now there came a reading public. ii) After a french revolution primary education became compulsory. Many fairy tales and old books were published. iii) Women became important part in Reading books. They also published their own books related to their lives.. Such as bronte sistersand jane augustus. iv) vernacular presses becme nationalist and newspapers became a mediam of spreading nationalism among people. The rate of literacy was very low in Europe till the end of 20th century.To attract people , the printers started printing popular ballads with lots of illustrations . Such books were recited at gatherings and it attracted listeners. That\'s how the reading and the hearing public came closer. Because when the hearing public wanted to hear something reading public read for them by this they came closer |
