Answer» Solution :Some detergents having a BRANCHED HYDROCARBON CHAIN are not fully biodegradable by micro-organisms present in water. So, they cause water pollution. They have straight hydrocarbon chains, in biodegradable detergents, which can be EASILY degraded by bacteria.
