How does the shredded ice convert into solid ice ball (during the preparation of an ice ball)?

Answer»

Solution :i. While preparing an ice BALL, the shredded ice is pressurised around the tip of the stick.
ii. Applied PRESSURE lowers the melting point of ice below `0^(@)C`causing it to melt momentarily.
iii. This merges shredded ice pieces into one.
iv. Once pressure is removed, due to regelation freezing point is restored to`0^(@)C` and the piece re-freezes in the FORM of single solid ice ball.
