How is federation practiced in india? |
| Answer» India is an example of holding together federations. Here central government is more powerful as compared to the states. The constituent units(states) have unequal powers with some having special powers.Indian constitution provided a two tier system of government i.e. the cenentral government and the state government.Later ,a third tier of federalism was added in the form of Panchayats and Municipalities. These different tiers enjoy seperate jurisdiction. The judiciary plays an important role in overseeing the implementation of constitutional provisions and procedures. In case of any dispute about the division of powers, the High courts and the Supreme courts make a decision. | |
