Given A `triangle` ABC in which AB =BC X and y are points on AB and BC RESPECTIVELY such that BX =BY
TO PROVE AX=CY
PROOF By Euclid 's Axiom 3 we know that when equals are substracted from equals the REMAINDERS are equal
`therefore` AB=BC and BX=BY
`rarr` AB-BX=BC-BY [equals are substracted from equals]
`rarr` AX=cY
HENCE AX=CY
