1.

Iron is a conductor of electricity, but when we pick up a piece of iron resting on the ground, why don't we get electric shock?

Answer»

SOLUTION :1.As the iron piece is kept on the ground, the excess electrons or PROTONS are TRANSFERRED/ neutralized by the earth. Hence, it will have equal number of protons and electrons.
2. Due to this, STATIC electricity is not created and the person picking it up does not get an electric shock.
