Answer» Solution : a) The displacement reaction which is highly exothermic and the METAL produced is in molten STATE is CALLED thermite reaction. i). SINCE the oxide of the metal is `Q_(2)Q_(3)` its valence is 3. therefore out of the mentioned metal only adumimium and iron can be the metal with properties mentioned above. ii) `QCI_(2)` and `QCI_(3)` MUST be iron as it shows varible valency of two and three. `FeCl_(2)` and `FeCl_(3)` are the chlorides. |
