The WOMAN produces all the ova of only one type, i.e., containing only one X-chromosome as a sex chromosome. A child who inherits an X-chromosome from her father will be a girl and one who inherits a Y-chromosome from him will be a boy. Thus, in human beings, the type of sperm that participates in the process of FERTILISATION, determines the sex of the child.
