Question : What is the process of translocation of food in plants. |
Answer» Solution :Transport of food in plants The food PREPARED in the green leaves of plants is transported through phloem in the FORM of SUCROSE solution to storage organs of roots, seeds and fruits. This process is called translocation. This process REQUIRES energy. It is provided by ATP molecules. This increases the osmotic pressure in the tissue causing water to move into it. This pressure MOVES the material in the phloem to tissues which have less pressure. |
