Answer» Federalism is a system of government in which the power is divided between a central authority and various constituent units of the country.A federation has two levels of government:-1) one is the govt. For the entire country that is usually responsible for a few subjects of common national interest.2) The other are govt. At the level of provinces or states that look after much of the day to day administering of their state.Key features of federalism are:-1) There are two or more tiers of government.2) Different tiers of govt. have their own jurisdiction regarding legislation., taxation and administration.3) The changes in the fundamental provisions of the constitution require the consent of both levels of government.4)Courts play a key role to interpret the constitution and the power of different levels of government. The supreme court plays the role of an umpire.5)Sources of revenue for each level of govt. are clearly mentioned to ensure its financial autonomy.6)The federal system has dual objectives i.e., to safeguard and promote unity of the country.7)At the same time it accomodates regional diversity. An ideal federal system of govt. Must have mutual trust and agreement to live together.Thank you ☺️☺️
