Solve : 0xc0000007b error - HijackThis included. Windows 8.?

Answer»

Hi all!

Very cool there's a website like this where noobs like me can get help. Awesome!

I just got a new computer yesterday (a HP Envy - not sure which model exactly) and I haven't downloaded anything in particular except for AVG and 3 games and Firefox (and a few other minor things and DirectX and such)

Whenever I try to open a game, I get the error "0xc0000007b". It cannot open any games I've got.

I did the HijackThis thing, and this is what I got.

Help, please?

Download BlueScreenView:

unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe to run the program.
when scanning is done, GO to EDIT - Select All
Go to FILE - SAVE Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all of the content, and paste it into your next REPLY Quote from: Allan on December 21, 2013, 01:23:15 PM

Hi there, Allan. Thanks for the quick respond.

I just ran the program BlueSreenView, but I don't know what to to with it? It's all empty, nothing to display.

edit: it says 0 crashes. Then please explain your problem in detail. You say you're getting a bsod, but BlueScreenView can't find any. Take your TIME and explain the problem in detail, including when it started, what is new since before it started, and your system information.Alright, I'll try to do my best.

I just got this computer yesterday. So as I've just received it, I downloaded regular programs like flash, Antivirus (AVG) and a few other regular items.
I installed some games on it (Assassin's Creed, Borderlands and Batman) but they all failed to start. When I attempt to run the games, it shows the message "0xc0000007b. The program cannot start properly. Click OK to shut it down" (rough translate).

I click OK and nothing happens.

I've downloaded Direct X, .Net Framework and the Visual Studio - all the latest updates.
I don't get BSOD's - it doesn't freeze, shut down or anything. It's like my computer is just missing something that makes me unable to run games.

I haven't been able to run any games.
My processor is Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ 2.40 GHz.... 8 GB RAM. 64bit system - and windows 8.

There's really nothing much to say - as this is a brand new computer and I haven't done much to it yet.

When you say you just got the computer, please explain the computer's background. Is it new, did someone give it to you?

You just installed an AV. If it was given to you, did the prior own it run it without an av? Quote from: Allan on December 21, 2013, 02:09:59 PM

Brand new. Got it through my insurance, so it's never been used
Then I suggest you exchange it under warranty. Quote from: Allan on December 21, 2013, 03:00:28 PM
