Solve : Active X?

Answer»

In Add Remove Programs I have among others:

Adobe Flash Player 9 ACTIVE X
Adobe Atmosphere Player for Acrobat and Adobe Reader
Adobe Flash Player 9 Active X
Adobe Reader 7.0

Do i need all of these? Is one FIGHTING the other? What do you recommend? The issue that I always seem to have is that I have something running in the background. I hve had your HELP and my computer was quiet for about a week. After that week I think one of the Active x programs loaded with a game and I'm not sure how I should take care of it without messing things up. - You need Adobe Flash Player. I don't know why you have TWO instances of it, so I'd uninstall BOTH, and install fresh version: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

- Most likely, you don't need Adobe Atmosphere Player:

Adobe Atmosphere Player, an embedded plug-in for web browsers and documents, gives users the ability to view 3-D environments created in Adobe Atmosphere.

Adobe Atmosphere (abbreviated Atmo) is a 3D computer graphics creation product originally developed by Attitude Software. In November 1999, Adobe Systems purchased the technology. Adobe released its last version of Atmosphere, version 1.0 build 216, in February 2004, then discontinued the software in December 2004. The product spent the majority of its lifetime in beta testing.

- Adobe Reader 7.0 is a real resource hog. I'd uninstall it, and get FoxIt: http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.phpAdobe Flash Player will not DELETE in Add/Remove ProgramsYou have two listings for Flash Player. Neither of them can be uninstalled? This is a known issue...

Travel Here for the fix. Thanks PATIO...I couldn't find that link.

BTW, I love bullsh*t like this:

Due to recent enhancements to the Adobe Flash Player installers, you can now remove the player only by using the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller.
I believe they borrowed the term enhancements from Redmond...
