Solve : Adobe Acobat Reader installs EVERY reboot!? |
|
Answer» Adobe Acrobat READER 5.0 Seems to be buried somewhere in autoexec.exe *censored*! Every time I start the computer it starts Acrobat Reader Setup 5.0 before it completes the desktop. I am running Win XP Pro Serv pack 2. Have a pent 4 with 3.4 GHz - 3.46GHz - 1GB RAM - I have: Deleted every Adobe file from add/remove programs deleted every adobe file from msconfig>setup run jv16 power tools registry remover PLEASE! HelpAnd if you try to just install Adobe, it keeps coming back? Have you scanned for viruses and Spyware? [glb]Flame[/glb]That's strange, you could try installing the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader over the top of it. As a side line, I set mine not to start on bootup, it starts on demand anyway and I AVOID clicking on .pdf files because the whole thing is too damned slow. Not much sense in running a program if it's not used very often. You can set that up after you fix your setup problem. I just got censored ROTFLMAO!oooooooohhhhhhh!!!!! Fed did somethin bad!!! [glb]Flame[/glb]Go to "START" "RUN" and type in "msconfig" in the box This will bring up abox open "startup" TAB on right hand side You will see a list of programs that startup with windows untick any that relate to Adobe Acobat Reader or have Adobe in the title then apply, restart the computer and see if the problems fixed. You'll get a message saying you have altered system files, just tick don't show this message again Sorry the instructions are so basic . In order to keep reinstalling Adobe Reader, the installer must be somewhere on the Hard Disk Drive. It can not be in the RAM, since that is cleared upon reset. I suggest that you remove all Adobe Reader entries from any of the drives you have and also from the registry.Hi Guys Okay - Good advice all Done and done in fact....done and done and done!
